Unparalleled technology resourcesIn Suffolk County, you will find Stony Brook University, ranked in the top 20 among all U.S. universities for licensing revenues. Brookhaven National Laboratories, recognized worldwide as a center of excellence for research into the physical sciences, is home to both the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and National Synchrotron Light Source II. These, however, are just the most visible examples of our technological richness. Farmingdale State College focuses on applied technologies and supports the needs of regional manufacturers through the Institute for Research and Technology Transfer, and operates the Broadhollow Bioscience Park in cooperation with world-renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories. Broadhollow is just one of several such facilities spread throughout the county, including the Long Island High-Technology Incubator and Software Incubator at Stony Brook, and the Calverton Incubator for Agriculture, Aquaculture and Environmental Technology.
